Install and manage browser extensions

Extensions are assigned per profile. When a profile launches, the client prepares its selected extensions and checks whether each version supports the profile’s browser version.

Install an extension

1. Open the extension store and find the extension by category or keyword.
2. Review its purpose, version, and supported browser range.
3. Select install and choose the profiles that need it.
4. Restart those profiles and confirm the extension appears in the browser.

Install only what a workflow needs. A smaller extension set is easier to maintain and troubleshoot.

Handle an update

Read the release notes before accepting an available update. For a critical workflow:

• Upgrade a test profile first.
• Complete one core business flow.
• Check for unexpected permission changes.
• Upgrade the remaining profiles only after validation.

Resolve compatibility notices

MaskPilot prevents an unsupported extension and browser combination from loading. You can:

1. Select a compatible extension version.
2. Change the browser version only when the workflow permits it.
3. Remove the extension from that profile for now.

Do not edit extension files manually to bypass compatibility checks. Doing so removes the reliable version boundary used for updates and troubleshooting.

When an extension is removed

An extension can be removed for security, compatibility, or maintenance reasons. Follow the client notice and migrate to a recommended version or alternative. Validate it on a test profile before changing every production profile.
